I've loved paintings for as long as I can remember. I can still remember going to Tate Britain back in the 80s - on a school trip - and sitting cross-legged in the Rothko room as a teacher introduced us to the world of Abstract Expressionism. It was so different to the quaint little watercolours hanging at home and felt exciting as a 9 year old from the sleepy suburbs of London.
Fast-forward a few decades and these are some of my favourite past and present artists. All of which who's bravery and genius would make me throw open the gallery doors and thrust my credit card into the dealer's hands (if only I could afford it).
