I've been selected to take part in a new 4 part BBC2 documentary on contemporary art. Six of us will work together on a few projects and, ultimately, show our work in the Saatchi Gallery, London. The whole thing is filmed for your pleasure and amusement! Features Tracey Emin, Martin Creed and Mat Collishaw and is presented by Matt Collings. I'll be hiding behind the sofa... 'In fact, School of Saatchi (BBC2) appears to be a sort of rescue mission, a genuine attempt to separate wheat from chaff, to weed out the chancers and leave the viewer with a real sense of why something modern might be worthy of being considered art. The four judges are Tracey Emin, Kate Bush (not that one, the curator one), critic Matthew Collings and collector Frank Cohen, here described as "the Saatchi of the north", although there is something quite un-Saatchi-like about his availability. The famously reclusive Charles Saatchi does not actually appear in the programme, even though it bears his name and it will ultimately be him who decides which artist is awarded with an exhibition at the Hermitage in St Petersburg....'
