 Feel It All . 110x100cm . oil on panel . © Ben Lowe 2012 This was the last painting I made in my London studio before my 2012 stint in N.Y.C. The painting was shipped 10,000 miles to its new home in Sydney.
During the late 1800s and early 1900s my family were merchants in London's Billingsgate market. I thought it was about time I got down there to see what the modern day Billingsgate was all about. Alarm set for 5am and wellies at the ready, I spent a morning photographing the traders and porters as they went about their business.
